Ramayana
The Ramayana is one of the two major ancient Sanskrit epics of India (the other being the Mahabharata). Attributed to the sage Valmiki, it is a foundational text of Hinduism that explores the concepts of dharma (duty, righteousness, and cosmic order) through the life of Prince Rama.
The epic is incredibly influential across South and Southeast Asia, deeply shaping the cultural, theatrical, and literary traditions of countries like Indonesia (where it is known as the Kakawin Ramayana and performed via Wayang and traditional dance).
