This gruesome incident is only the beginning of a sudden, violent wave of terror. One by one, students and staff members at Alif’s school begin dropping dead under deeply bizarre and agonizing conditions. The local police launch a frantic investigation, and because of his proximity to the initial crime scene and a dark, hidden past he desperately wants to keep buried, suspicion falls squarely on Alif.

In reality, the source of the killings is far more terrifying than a human murderer. The school’s Scientific Research Club (KIR—Kelompok Ilmiah Remaja) had recently attended an international science conference. Unknowingly, they brought back a biological hazard: an invasive, mutated fungal spore.

Originating from the confines of the club's research room, the deadly fungal spores begin spreading rapidly through the school’s ventilation system, multiplying and consuming human hosts from the inside out.
