Dragon Pearl

---

The story follows Min, a thirteen-year-old girl living on Jinju, a barren, dusty, and impoverished planet. Min comes from a long line of Gumiho (nine-tailed fox spirits), meaning she has the magical ability to "Charm" people, manipulate minds, and shapeshift into animals or inanimate objects. However, because fox spirits are heavily distrusted and feared throughout the Thousand Worlds sector, Min’s mother forces the family to hide their true nature and live strictly as ordinary humans.

Min's life is upended when she receives devastating news: her beloved older brother, Jun, has allegedly deserted his post in the prestigious Space Forces to go search for the Dragon Pearl—a mythical, god-like artifact rumored to possess the power to instantly terraform barren worlds into lush, habitable paradises.

Refusing to believe her brother is a traitor, Min runs away from home to clear Jun's name. Using her forbidden Fox magic to disguise herself as a male Space Forces cadet, she sneaks aboard the Pale Lightning, a massive military battle cruiser. Navigating a dangerous galaxy filled with ghost-infested ghost ships, celestial bureaucracies, and space pirates, Min races to find the Dragon Pearl before it falls into the hands of a corrupt warlord.
