The story is set in the mid-1990s in the nostalgic, atmospheric city of Bandung, Indonesia. For the first time, the narrative is told completely from a female perspective—specifically through the eyes of Ancika Mehrunisa Rabu.

Ancika is a sharp, fiercely independent, and pragmatic 17-year-old high school student. She is incredibly ambitious, focuses deeply on her studies, and has zero interest in teenage romance or flashy trends. Crucially, she has a strict "no dating" policy and prefers to treat boys simply as friends or equals.

Her quiet, structured life is disrupted when she meets Dilan. No longer the wild, teenage motorcycle gang commander from his high school years, Dilan is now a 24-year-old college student at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). While he has matured, he still carries his signature eccentric wit, sharp humor, and playful charm.
