Parvana 3 kota Lumpur
Driven by the dream of escaping the war-torn misery of Afghanistan, fourteen-year-old Shauzia has managed to flee Kabul. Her ultimate goal is to reach France and stand beneath the Eiffel Tower—a promise she and Parvana made to each other. However, reality catches up to her, and she finds herself stuck in the Widows’ compound at a gritty, sweltering refugee camp in Peshawar, Pakistan. The camp is literally a "mud city," where the sun bakes the dirt walls like an oven and flies swarm the crowded streets.
Desperate for independence and unable to endure the stifling, hopeless environment of the camp, Shauzia runs away into the bustling, chaotic streets of Peshawar. Accompanied only by her loyal dog, Jasper, she disguises herself as a boy once again to survive. She takes on any odd job she can find—shining shoes, begging, and scavenging through garbage.
Peshawar is a dangerous place for a wandering child, and Shauzia quickly learns that the world outside the camp holds its own harsh cruelties. She is constantly torn between her fierce desire for personal freedom and the grueling, day-to-day struggle to stay alive, all while clinging to the fading hope of a better future in Europe.
