Gadis Tanpa Nama
The story begins in 1954 in a remote village in Colombia. A young girl, barely four years old, is suddenly and brutally kidnapped from her home for reasons she cannot comprehend. Instead of being held for ransom, her captors inexplicably abandon her deep in the heart of the lawless Colombian jungle.
Terrified, starving, and entirely alone, the little girl’s survival seems impossible. However, her life takes an extraordinary turn when she encounters a troop of capuchin monkeys. By mimicking their behaviors, sounds, and eating habits, she is gradually accepted by the colony. Over the course of five years, she lives as a feral child, losing her ability to speak human language but developing uncanny jungle survival skills, navigating the treetops, and finding a strange sense of family among the animals.
Her jungle life ends abruptly when she is discovered by human hunters. However, her return to civilization is far from a rescue. Unable to speak and stripped of her identity, she is sold into a notorious brothel in Cúcuta, escapes to live as a homeless street urchin, and is later enslaved by a cruel mafia family. The novel follows her grueling, heartbreaking journey to reclaim her humanity, learn to speak again, and find a real home—ultimately leading her to a new life in the United Kingdom where she finally adopts the name Marina.
