Gadis - Gadis Biola
The story is narrated through the intimate, diary-like letters of Anna Maria dal Violin, a fourteen-year-old girl living in 1700s Venice. Abandoned as an infant, Anna Maria has spent her entire life locked behind the heavy walls of the Ospedale della Pietà—a famous convent, orphanage, and music school for abandoned girls.
Despite their isolation from the outside world, the girls of the Pietà are world-renowned. Behind iron grates that shield them from the gaze of the public, they are trained to become virtuoso musicians. Their resident composer, violin master, and teacher is none other than a passionate, red-haired priest named Don Antonio Vivaldi.
