Ayah
The novel follows Sabari, a kind-hearted, artistic, and deeply romantic man, and his profound, lifelong obsession with a woman named Marlena. Despite Marlena’s indifference and her frequent involvement in a "bad lifestyle," Sabari’s love for her remains steadfast. When Marlena eventually becomes pregnant out of wedlock, Sabari steps in to protect her and her family's reputation by claiming the child as his own.
The child, Zorro, becomes the center of Sabari’s world. Through his role as a father, the novel shifts from a story of unrequited romantic love to one of unconditional parental devotion. Sabari’s life is defined by his struggle to provide for Zorro, his emotional vulnerability, and the immense sacrifices he makes to be a constant, loving presence in his son's life, even when faced with heartbreak and separation.
