Katniss Everdeen wakes up in District 13, an underground district everyone thought was destroyed. It’s run by the stern President Alma Coin. The rebels want Katniss to be the Mockingjay – the face of the revolution against the Capitol and President Snow.

Katniss agrees, but only if Coin grants immunity to Peeta and the other captured tributes. She films propaganda “propos” in destroyed districts, becoming the symbol of hope. But she’s traumatized, unstable, and used as a puppet.
