Little Altars Everywhere
Little Altars Everywhere is a bestselling 1992 debut novel (originally structured as a collection of interconnected stories/perspectives) by American author Rebecca Wells. It serves as the prequel to Wells's widely celebrated 1996 novel Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Set in the small town of Thornton, Louisiana, the book spans nearly thirty years—alternating primarily between the turbulent 1960s when the main characters are growing up and the early 1990s when they deal with the adult consequences of their childhoods.
