Aikido
Aikido (合気道) is a modern Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba (often referred to as Ōsensei, or "Great Teacher") during the first half of the 20th century. Derived from traditional jujitsu, kenjutsu (sword fighting), and Sojutsu (spear fighting), Aikido is unique among martial arts because its fundamental philosophy centers on neutralizing aggression without causing severe injury to the attacker.
