EHIPASSIKO Pendidikan Agama Buddha dan Budi Pekerti Fase D SMP 8 Kurikulum Merdeka
EHIPASSIKO is a Buddhist Religious Education and Character Development textbook for Grade 8 Junior High School students in Phase D, developed in accordance with Indonesia’s Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka). Inspired by the Buddhist principle Ehipassiko, meaning “come and see,” the book encourages students to explore, understand, reflect upon, and personally practice the Buddha’s teachings.
The book builds upon students’ previous learning by introducing deeper aspects of Buddhist teachings and their relevance to personal growth and everyday life. Through Buddhist texts, stories, reflection, discussion, inquiry-based learning, and practical activities, students are encouraged to develop wisdom, mindfulness, compassion, ethical conduct, self-discipline, and respect for all forms of life.
A key emphasis of EHIPASSIKO is learning through experience and reflection. Students are encouraged to examine their thoughts, emotions, words, and actions and to connect Buddhist principles with situations they encounter at home, school, among friends, and in society. The book promotes responsible decision-making and encourages students to understand the consequences of their actions.
Ultimately, EHIPASSIKO seeks to nurture young Buddhists who are mindful, wise, compassionate, and responsible. It invites students to move beyond simply learning about the Dhamma and to experience its value through daily practice, enabling them to contribute positively to their families, communities, and societ
