Ulysses is a landmark 1922 modernist novel by Irish author James Joyce. Widely considered one of the most important and influential works of 20th-century literature, the novel chronicles the passage of Leopold Bloom through Dublin, Ireland, during an ordinary single day: June 16, 1904 (now globally celebrated as "Bloomsday").
